What is Carbon Black?

Carbon black is a form of finely divided carbon produced by incomplete combustion or thermal decomposition of hydrocarbons, such as natural gas or petroleum oil. It consists of spherical particles with a high surface area and is typically black or dark gray in color. Carbon black is widely used in various industries due to its unique properties. Here's more about carbon black and its uses:

 1. Rubber Industry:

Reinforcement: Carbon black is extensively used as a reinforcing filler in the production of rubber products, including tires, conveyor belts, and automotive components. It enhances the mechanical properties and durability of rubber by improving tensile strength, abrasion resistance, and tear resistance.

2. Plastics Industry:

Pigment and UV Protection: Carbon black serves as a pigment in plastics, imparting black coloration to various plastic products, such as pipes, cables, films, and packaging materials. Additionally, it provides UV stabilization, helping to prevent degradation of plastic due to exposure to sunlight.

3. Ink and Coatings:

Pigmentation: Carbon black is a common pigment in printing inks, including offset inks, gravure inks, and flexographic inks, due to its intense black color and good dispersibility. It is also used in paints, coatings, and varnishes to provide coloration and UV protection.

4. Battery Manufacturing:

Conductive Additive: Carbon black is employed as a conductive additive in the production of lithium-ion batteries and other types of batteries. It helps improve the electrical conductivity of battery electrodes, leading to enhanced performance and efficiency.

5. Construction Materials:

Asphalt Modification: Carbon black is added to asphalt mixtures used in road construction to improve the properties of asphalt pavement, including resistance to cracking, aging, and UV degradation.

6. Conductive Polymers:

Electrical Conductivity: In the field of conductive polymers, carbon black is incorporated into polymer matrices to impart electrical conductivity. These materials find applications in electronics, electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection, and antistatic packaging.

7. Toner Production:

Printing: Carbon black is a key component of toner particles used in laser printers and photocopiers. It forms the black pigment in toner formulations and helps produce high-quality, sharp prints.

8. Other Applications:

Adhesives and Sealants: Carbon black is used as a pigment and reinforcing filler in adhesives and sealants. Rubber Compounds: It finds application in the production of various rubber compounds, such as shoe soles, gaskets, and industrial belts.
Our trade process spreads across C&F and FOB depending on the buyer's preference.

Here's what they entail:

1). Cost and Freight (C&F): Here, the seller will handle everything from loading the vessel and shipping the product to wherever the buyer wants it delivered.

2). Freight On Board (FOB): Here, the seller pays for the transportation of the goods to the port of shipment, plus loading costs, while the buyer pays the cost of marine freight transport, insurance, unloading, and transportation from the originating port to the final destination.
