What is Carboxy Methyl Cellulose?

Carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) is a cellulose derivative that is commonly used as a versatile additive in various industries. It is derived from cellulose, a natural polymer found in the cell walls of plants. Through a chemical modification process, carboxymethyl groups (-CH2-COOH) are introduced into the cellulose structure, resulting in a water-soluble, anionic polymer.

Here are some key points about carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC):

1). Thickening and Stabilizing Agent: CMC is widely used as a thickening and stabilizing agent in a variety of applications. It has excellent water-holding capacity and viscosity-building properties, making it useful in food products, personal care products, pharmaceuticals, and industrial formulations. CMC helps improve the texture, consistency, and stability of products by enhancing their viscosity and preventing ingredient separation.

2). Food Industry Applications: In the food industry, CMC is used in a range of products, including baked goods, dairy products, sauces, dressings, beverages, and ice cream. It functions as a thickener, binder, emulsion stabilizer, and moisture retainer. CMC helps improve the mouthfeel, shelf life, and overall quality of food products.

3). Pharmaceutical and Personal Care Applications: CMC finds applications in the pharmaceutical and personal care industries as well. It is used in oral suspensions, topical creams, ointments, and lotions to improve their texture, stability, and controlled release properties. CMC is also used in toothpaste, shampoos, and other personal care products as a thickener and binder.

4). Industrial Applications: CMC has various industrial applications, such as in paper manufacturing, textile processing, oil drilling fluids, detergents, and paints. It acts as a viscosity modifier, binder, and film-forming agent in these applications.

5). Safety Considerations: CMC is generally regarded as safe for consumption and use in the recommended applications. It is non-toxic and has low allergenic potential. However, individual sensitivities or allergies may vary, so it's always advisable to check product labels and consult with healthcare professionals if you have any specific concerns or conditions.

Our trade process spreads across CIF, FOB, TTO, and TTT, depending on the buyer's preference.

Here's what they entail:

1). Cost Insurance and Freight (CIF): Here, the seller will handle everything from loading the vessel, paying for insurance, and sending the product to wherever the buyer wants it delivered.

2). Freight On Board (FOB): Here, the seller pays for the transportation of the goods to the port of shipment, plus loading costs, while the buyer pays the cost of marine freight transport, insurance, unloading, and transportation from the originating port to the final destination.

3). Tanker Take Over (TTO): Here, the buyer will take over the vessel, offload the product at their destination, and return it.

4). Tanker To Tanker (TTT): Here, the buyer uses their own vessel, long sides with the seller's vessel, and then the cargo is transshipped when the transaction is fully settled.
