What is Calcium Chloride?

Calcium chloride is a chemical compound with the formula CaCl2. It is a white crystalline solid that is highly soluble in water. Calcium chloride is derived from the chemical reaction between calcium carbonate or calcium hydroxide with hydrochloric acid.

Here are some key points about calcium chloride:

1). Deicing and Road Maintenance: Calcium chloride is commonly used as a deicing agent to remove ice and snow from roads, sidewalks, and other surfaces. It lowers the freezing point of water, helping to melt ice and prevent the formation of ice patches. It is effective at lower temperatures compared to other deicing salts like sodium chloride (rock salt).

2). Moisture Absorption: Calcium chloride is hygroscopic, meaning it has a strong affinity for water and can absorb moisture from the air. It is often used as a desiccant to control humidity in various applications, such as in packaging, drying processes, and industrial settings.

3). Food and Beverage Industry: Calcium chloride has several applications in the food and beverage industry. It is used as a firming agent or calcium supplement in food products, such as canned fruits and vegetables, tofu, and cheese. It can also be used as a coagulant in the production of certain foods, such as pickles.

4). Water Treatment: Calcium chloride is used in water treatment processes to adjust the hardness of water, which refers to the concentration of dissolved minerals, particularly calcium and magnesium. It can help reduce the scaling and buildup of mineral deposits in water pipes, boilers, and other equipment.

5). Industrial Processes: Calcium chloride finds applications in various industrial processes. It is used as a drying agent, catalyst, and additive in chemical reactions and manufacturing processes. It can also be used as a dust suppressant on construction sites and unpaved roads.

6).Medical and Veterinary Use: Calcium chloride injections are sometimes administered in medical and veterinary settings to treat conditions related to calcium deficiencies or electrolyte imbalances. It is used under the supervision of healthcare professionals.

It's important to handle calcium chloride with care, as it can cause skin and eye irritation. Proper safety precautions and guidelines should be followed when using calcium chloride in any application.
Our trade process spreads across CIF, FOB, TTO, and TTT, depending on the buyer's preference.

Here's what they entail:

1). Cost Insurance and Freight (CIF): Here, the seller will handle everything from loading the vessel, paying for insurance, and sending the product to wherever the buyer wants it delivered.

2). Freight On Board (FOB): Here, the seller pays for the transportation of the goods to the port of shipment, plus loading costs, while the buyer pays the cost of marine freight transport, insurance, unloading, and transportation from the originating port to the final destination.

3). Tanker Take Over (TTO): Here, the buyer will take over the vessel, offload the product at their destination, and return it.

4). Tanker To Tanker (TTT): Here, the buyer uses their own vessel, long sides with the seller's vessel, and then the cargo is transshipped when the transaction is fully settled.
