What is Ammonium Sulphate?

Ammonium sulfate, also known as diammonium sulfate, is a chemical compound with the formula (NH4)2SO4. It is an inorganic salt that consists of ammonium ions (NH4+) and sulfate ions (SO4^2-).

Here are some key points about ammonium sulfate:

1). Fertilizer: Ammonium sulfate is primarily used as a nitrogen fertilizer in agriculture. It provides a readily available source of nitrogen and sulfur, two essential nutrients for plant growth. The ammonium ions are readily taken up by plant roots, and the sulfate ions contribute to sulfur nutrition. It is commonly used on crops such as corn, wheat, and soybeans.

2). Soil Acidifier: Ammonium sulfate has an acidic pH, which makes it suitable for use as a soil acidifier. It can be applied to alkaline soils to lower the pH and make the soil more acidic. This is beneficial for certain plants that prefer acidic soil conditions, such as rhododendrons and blueberries.

3). Industrial Applications: Ammonium sulfate has several industrial uses. It is used in the manufacturing of fire extinguisher powders, flame retardants, and herbicides. It is also used in various industrial processes, such as in the production of dyes, pigments, and pharmaceuticals.

4). Laboratory Reagent: Ammonium sulfate is commonly used in laboratories as a reagent for various chemical reactions and as a protein precipitant. It is used to fractionate proteins based on their solubility characteristics.

5). Food Additive: In the food industry, ammonium sulfate may be used as a dough conditioner, helping to improve dough elasticity and texture in baked goods. However, its use as a food additive is less common compared to its agricultural and industrial applications.

It's important to note that while ammonium sulfate is widely used as a fertilizer and soil amendment, its application should be done in accordance with recommended guidelines to avoid over-fertilization and potential harm to the environment.
Our trade process spreads across CIF, FOB, TTO, and TTT, depending on the buyer's preference.

Here's what they entail:

1). Cost Insurance and Freight (CIF): Here, the seller will handle everything from loading the vessel, paying for insurance, and sending the product to wherever the buyer wants it delivered.

2). Freight On Board (FOB): Here, the seller pays for the transportation of the goods to the port of shipment, plus loading costs, while the buyer pays the cost of marine freight transport, insurance, unloading, and transportation from the originating port to the final destination.

3). Tanker Take Over (TTO): Here, the buyer will take over the vessel, offload the product at their destination, and return it.

4). Tanker To Tanker (TTT): Here, the buyer uses their own vessel, long sides with the seller's vessel, and then the cargo is transshipped when the transaction is fully settled.
